THE Tour de France may be over for another year but there is still chance to capture the memories of the event’s hugely successful excursion to Yorkshire.

On August 1 aficionados will have their chance to bid for a Scott Addict bike that was used by Mark Cavendish during the 2010 season.

The machine is being sold through Tennants Auctioneers of Leyburn and is estimated to fetch between £1,500 and £2,500 – although when new it would have sold for about £10,000.

The vendor was a sport marketing manager for Nike who signed Mark Cavendish to an endorsement contract and worked regularly with him and with the brand.

The bike, which weighs just 7kg, was given to the vendor by the marketing manager of the HTC team when they changed bike sponsors in 2011- and it was used during the 2010 Tour de France.
