MUSIC lovers were served up a treat over the weekend when a two-day music festival took over a North-East town.

People who attended the Stockton Weekender were blown away by stunning headline performances from the Happy Mondays and hip-hop legends Public Enemy.

Motown’s stalwart Martha Reeves and The Vandellas delighted the crowd with a great show in the evening sun on the main stage on the Saturday.

Meanwhile, York's finest Shed Seven had the crowd up and dancing with an hour-long set that included many fan favourites from their back catalogue such Bully Boy and Chasing Rainbows.

As well as the music festival there was a variety of children’s entertainment in the Kaleidoscope Tent, while the Georgian Theatre played host to a number of up and coming local bands, including Fleckt Pets.

Organised by the Tees Music Alliance, the event continues to grow in popularity as both days were packed out by people enjoying the laid back atmosphere.
