Missing mum and children believed to be safe, but search continues

First published in

A MOTHER and her two young children are now believed to be safe, although police are yet to find them.

Cleveland Police issued an appeal for information after Yoon Jin Jeong and her two children, Stephen Jae Gittins, three, and 11-month-old Stephen George Gittins went missing last week.

A police spokeswoman today, SUNDAY, said that Yoon Jin Jeong has been in contact with close family members and is believed to be safe and well.

However officers are still trying to locate her and the two children, who may be in the London area, and are still appealing for information.

The mother, who is originally from South Korea, and two children failed to attend an appointment at 1pm on Friday and the alarm was raised soon afterwards.

The police have not released details about where the woman and children were living in the Cleveland area. Anyone with any information is asked to call Cleveland Police on the emergency 999 number.
