MUSEUMS across the Tees Valley have joined forces to stage activities for children throughout the school summer holidays.

The first event will take place at Preston Park Museum and Grounds in Stockton on Monday from 10am.

It will feature staff from Darlington’s Head of Steam, Preston Park, Kirkleatham Old Hall, Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum, the Dorman Museum and the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum.

These Tees Valley Museums are working together to offer lots of family activities as part of the Making a Mark Project, funded by Arts Council England to promote the use of museums by schools and families.

Visitors can pick up a special loyalty card, where completing three activities at any of the museums over the summer holidays will entitle them to a special reward.

An admission charge applies at Preston Hall, but the activities are free, and for more information about the various events contact 01325-734128.
