CLEVELAND Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision involving a scooter and a pedestrian in Middlesbrough last night.
The collision happened at around 6.30pm on Linthorpe Road towards Albert Road in Middlesbrough. It involved an off-road style 50cc Yamaha scooter and a 21-year-old male pedestrian. Both were taken to James Cook University Hospital where they remain today.
The 21-year-old male rider of the scooter suffered serious head injuries, internal injuries and lacerations. He is described as being in a “critical” condition.
The 21-year-old male pedestrian suffered a broken foot and lacerations. He is described as being in a “stable” condition.
Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact PC Nigel Green from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 126901.
