A SECTION of a Teesside beach was cordoned off following the discovery of a suspected explosive device.

Redcar Coastguard and Cleveland Police were called to Huntcliffe, Saltburn, at about 7pm on Monday (July 21) after reports that a suspicious item had been found.

A section of the beach was temporarily closed to the public.
