THREE sets of siblings from the Hambleton area will be taking to the stage this summer for a large theatre production.

The teenagers, from Northallerton and Great Ayton are currently rehearsing for a production of Our House at the Grand Opera House in York.

They include Lucy Watkiss, 18, and her sister Georgina, 15, along with Lucy Moore, 13, and her sister Georgia, 14, all from Northallerton, who will join brother and sister Christian, 17, and Caitlin Calgie, 14, on stage on July 31.

Our House is based on hit songs from the band Madness and tells the tale of Joe Casey who breaks into a building site.

The police turn up and the story then follows the two different paths his life splits into according to the different choices he took that night.

Christian, 17, plays that role of Joe’s dad – played by Madness front man, Suggs, back in 2012 to mark the 10th anniversary of the musical.

Caitlin was given a specially written role after narrowly missing out on the lead female role.

All the siblings successfully auditioned back in March for their parts. They started rehearsals with Stage Experience on Saturday, July 19 and the production will open on July 31 and run until August 2.

Lucy Watkiss said: “It’s a great opportunity to perform on a big stage and be part of a professional production.”

Tickets are £19 available from the Grand Opera House in York on 0844-871-3024.
