STAFF were victorious when they took on students at The Wensleydale School annual sports day.
After a run of defeats, sixth formers again failed to beat a team of teachers at rounders.
During the day, hundreds of pupils took part in athletics and team games.
Newton house won the overall athletics title, while 10 Hardy came out top in the tug of war.
In the inter-house junior tennis competition, Owen Pratt and Jess Johnson, from Turner, took first, while Emily Potts and Joe Everitt, Hardy, won the senior event.
Hardy made it a clean sweep in rounders, winning the year 7, 8, and 9 contests, with Hardy's year 7s also winning the cricket. Year 8 cricket was won by Newton, with Turner taking the Year 9 game.
In the final assembly, Luke Circo and Kyle Smith were presented with their area athletics colours.
On Friday (July 18), 60 students and five members of staff ran up Pen Hill for the school's annual fell race.
