A MAN was injured when he was struck in the back in an alleged Samurai sword attack.
Police are appealing for information after the incident in Meadowdale Road in the Port Clarence area of Teesside.
"The alleged incident took place between 8pm and 8.30pm on Saturday, July 12, and is believed to have involved two suspects and left a 22-year-old man with a non-life threatening injury to his back," a spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said. "He received treatment at the University Hospital of North Tees and was later released.
"A second man, aged 29, suffered facial injuries after being punched."
A 23-year-old man, who was arrested in connection with the incident, has been charged with Section 18 wounding and affray. He will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday).
Officers are still searching for a second man who may have been involved in the incident.
