DOZENS of youngsters are expected to take part in a charity fundraising toddle being held in a Darlington park this weekend.

A one-mile sponsored toddle organised by the Darlington fundraising group for Macmillan Cancer Support is taking place on Sunday, at 11am, in South Park.

There will be lots of games and entertainment for youngsters and their families to enjoy along the way.

Children of all ages are encouraged to come along and enjoy the fun whilst raising money for local people living with cancer.

Organiser Michelle Thompson said “This is our local flagship event and each year just gets bigger and better.

"It’s a great way for our little ones to enjoy exercise in beautiful surroundings while helping other people at the same time.

"We are extremely grateful to everyone who supports us and especially our families who raise an amazing amount of money.

"It really does make a difference and helps Macmillan ensure no child faces cancer alone."

Among the youngsters gathered in the park on Wednesday to promote the toddle were one-year-old Toby Sherwood-Parkin and Esme Smith, four.

Advance registration costs £4 for adults, £2 for children and under ones go free.

To register on the day costs £5 an adult and £3 a child.
