A SUMMER of music, fun and adventure is on the cards at the Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum.
The season kicks off with a Summer Tea Party, in partnership with the Saltburn Folk Club, on Sunday, July 27 from 1pm to 5pm when there will be tea, cakes, a raffle and music featuring Storm Crow and Doc Noir.
Throughout the summer there will be many other free events including a mini-beast hunt, rockpooling, making Stone Age art, walking along the shore to Hummersea bay to explore the Alum industry or helping to build the biggest sandcastle Cattersty Sands beach has ever seen.
Jean Banwell the education officer at the mining museum in Skinningrove, east Cleveland, said: “We are really grateful to the BBC Children in Need for their support in running the play scheme summer club. And the Heritage Lottery Fund without whom we would not be able to offer so many exciting activities this summer.”
