PUB staff and customers braved a 60 metre drop to raise funds for an air ambulance.

Staff from the Model T pub, in Mowden, Darlington, were joined by representatives from The Highland Laddie, based in Haughton, and pub regulars to tackle a bungee jump from a crane in the pub car park.

Nine people in total took the plunge to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

Model T landlady Susan Leask said none of the fundraisers were any the worse for their adventure and said crowds of customers had gathered to watch them take the leap of faith.

She added: “It was fantastic to see. We don’t yet know how much they’ve raised until all the sponsorship is gathered in.

"The lads who own the crane came in and asked if we fancied doing it to raise money for the air ambulance and the staff were up for it so it went from there.”
