TWO of the biggest names in British motorcycling attended an open day at a North-East garage.

Former Superbike world champion Chris Walker and John McGuinness, the 21-time Isle of Man TT champion, chatted with enthusiasts at Stephen Billau and Sons, in Darlington, on Saturday (June 21).

The open day was one of a string of events the garage has held with the biker community in Darlington and surrounding area.

Andrew Billau, one of the partners in the business, said between 1,500 and 2,000 people attended the open day.

He said: "We have been doing bikes for about three years and wanted to get our name on the map.

"John McGuinness is the biggest name in motorbike sport and Chris is a very popular lad in British Superbikes.

"So we put the two together and it went brilliantly".

The open day also included a trail bikes display.

A weekly bike night meeting is held at the garage, in Chesnut Street, from 8pm on Thursdays.
