TWO motorcyclists have been injured in separate crashes on the same stretch of road.

The first crash happened on the York ring road on the A1237 near the junction with the A59 to Harrogate at about 11.15am this morning (Sunday, June 22).

The accident involved one motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries. The ring road was closed in both directions while investigators studied the scene of the crash.

Shortly after the road closure, another motorcyclist crashed near the same stretch of road and is believed to have suffered a suspected broken collarbone. It is not believed there were any other vehicles involved in either incident.
