FORMER young embroiderers can take a stitch back in time and meet old faces while celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Young Embroiderers’ Society.

The milestone coincides with the 27th anniversary of Darlington Young Embroiderers and former members are invited to celebrate at a reunion on Saturday, July 5.

The event takes place from 10am to noon at Elm Ridge Methodist Church Hall, in Carmel Road South, Darlington, and includes refreshments and chocolate cake.

Former members can bring examples of their work and meet current young embroiderers who have recently exhibited their work in Paris at the annual Aiguille-en-fete exhibition.

Their next exhibition – Lindisfarne: Faith, Inspiration and Stitch – will be on show at Ripon Cathedral between July 29 and August 24.
