PHOTOGRAPHERS are invited to capture their favourite image of Teesdale for a competition to win a masterclass.

The Heart of Teesdale Landscape Partnership is running the competition to allow people to capture their favourite view.

Entries must be of a view that falls predominantly within the Heart of Teesdale area.

This stretches from Eggleston in the north to Barningham in the south and Bowes in the west to Gainford in the east.

Although the photographer can be from anywhere and the competition is open to all ages and abilities.

Local photographer Andy Beck will help to officially launch the competition at the NeST Gallery, in Barnard Castle, on Thursday, June 19 at 7pm.

The best 25 photos will be framed and put on show at The Witham Gallery, in Barnard Castle, for a two week show in October.

The winner gets £200 worth of photographic equipment and a one-to-one workshop with North-East landscape photographer Phillip Dove.

Two commended photographers will win a workshop with Mr Dove.

The 25 photographers exhibited in The Witham will receive their framed photograph to keep.
