A BREWERY is bringing out a real ale in honour of punk veteran Eddie Tudor Pole – who is performing at a nearby music festival this summer.

The Tenpole Tudor frontman is due to play the Willowman Festival near Thirsk, which begins on Thursday, June 19.

In honour of his appearance, the festival’s sponsor, Northallerton-based brewery Walls County Town Brewery, is sourcing a one-off ale, Swords of a 1000 Men, named after his 1981 top ten hit.

The beer is being specially brewed for the festival at the Revolution Brewery in Castleford.

Eddie Tudor Pole, who starred alongside the Sex Pistols in the movie The Great Rock and Roll Swindle will be performing at the Willowman Festival on Saturday. The festival takes place at Hillside Rural Activities Park in Knayton.

Revolution Brewery have also brewed an ale called Uprising after the late reggae legend Bob Marley to mark the appearance of his band The Wailers at Willowman on Saturday, June 21, and a beer called Memorabilia. To continue the music theme the beers have been brewed at strengths of 3.3, 4.5 and 7.8 to mark the playing speeds of vinyl records.

Mr Tudor Pole said: “What an honour to have my own ale. I shall certainly be having a tipple after the show.”
