A CELEBRATION of song and dance from around the world will take place in Reeth this month to raise cash for charity.

World of Song and Dance charity shows will take the audience on a whistle-stop tour around the globe for performances packed with colour and energy.

Dancing from the Janet Seymour School of Theatre Dance will feature everything from the can-can to chorus line. Songs from around the world will be performed by pupils of Arkengarthdale, Reeth and Gunnerside, and Richmond School, and harmony group Five Pearls and a Piano will be heading to Eurovision.

Proceeds from two of the shows are in aid of Arkengarthdale, and Reeth and Gunnerside Schools, with the third show supporting Richmond School pupil Hannah Smith’s charity project to Ecuador.

Tickets are on sale for the shows on Friday, June 27, at 7.30pm, and Saturday, June 28 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 for adults and £4 for children and are available from Reeth Post Office.

A World of Song and Dance is the fourth variety show of its kind, with the previous three shows raising more than £4,000 for the two dales primary schools and Reeth and District Athletic Club.
