A MAN arrested in connection with a sex assault that left a woman with serious injuries has been released on bail.
The 29-year-old man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of attempted rape following an incident in North Ormesby at the weekend and has now been bailed pending further enquiries.
He was arrested in the West Yorkshire area yesterday morning.
The victim remains in James Cook University hospital, in Middlesbrough, with facial injuries and a broken arm. She is said to be in a comfortable condition.
The incident occurred at 6am on Saturday on the North Ormesby flyover in Middlesbrough as the 52-year-old victim walked to work.
