POLICE are investigating the death of a 13-year-old boy.
Officers were called to a property in Kirkby Malzeard, near Ripon, North Yorkshire, at about 12.50pm on Monday by the ambulance service following a report of a sudden death.
Police said there were not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.
Police have not released the boy's identity and although he has been named locally, The Northern Echo has agreed to a request by the boy's family not to publish his name.
The boy was a student at the Wensleydale School, in Leyburn.
Headteacher Graham Parker described the boy as a "clever, witty, articulate and thoughtful student".
He added: "The school is saddened by the loss and our thoughts go out to his friends and family who loved him and will continue to love him."
