A SINGER-SONGWRITER from the North-East is celebrating after being invited to perform at Glastonbury.
Hayley McKay, from Hurworth, near Darlington, will open the Toad Hall stage at the fammous festival on Wednesday, June 25.
The 22-year-old, who also plays in the electro-pop duo Silent Houses, will perform an acoustic solo set at the festival.
Her acapella version of Amazing Grace featured in the Tyneside-set police drama film Harrigan, which was released last year.
She said: "I will be performing all original material at Glastonbury, it's exciting.
"Someone put some of my stuff forward to the organisers and the next thing I know, I'm on the bill at Glastonbury."
Silent Houses recently headlined a festival in Mulheim, Germany, and will perform at Richmond Live in August.
Headliners at this year's Glastonbury Festival, in Somerset, include Arcade Fire, Metallica and Kasabian.
