A HERITAGE railway has been transporting people down the yellow brick line with a special Wizard of Oz week.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) has been staging a week of activities with Dorothy and her companions for half term.
Youngsters have been invited to hunt for Oz-themed clues at Pickering and Goathland stations, with the chance to win family tickets.
Today (Friday, May 30) a special Wizard of Oz story train left Pickering station for a family fun day. Travellers were invited to come dressed as their favourite character from the Wizard of Oz and were able to meet characters on the train and stop off for fun activities at stations along the line. Once back in Pickering, visitors were invited to follow a trail of scarecrows from the station to Pickering Parish Church to see stunning floral displays.
The exhibits were created with the help of leading floral designers from around the region and local schools and community groups have helped create the scarecrows.
The adventure is set to continue this weekend, as people can pick up Wizard of Oz trails from any NYMR booking office until Monday, June 2.
