Two arrested in connection with cash point scam

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of theft in connection with an incident at Santander on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough where money was stolen from an ATM.

A 22-year-old man and 28-year-old who were arrested at an address in Middlesbrough this morning (Friday, May 30) are in police custody.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are looking to speak with a third man in connection with the incident.

Officers received key information in response to a public appeal for information and would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance in the investigation.

Police continue to appeal for further information on the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
