AN UP-AND-COMING comic is celebrating after bagging her first TV comedy gig.

Natalie Wicks of Ormesby, Middlesbrough played her first gig just18 months ago.

The former Nunthorpe School student will make her first TV appearance on Saturday (May 31) alongside Mock the Week’s Nathan Caton and Imran Yusuf from Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

The programme, about computer games, is called Console Yourself and is on cable channel Ginx TV and will be shown at 7pm.

Ms Wicks, 27, a graphic designer, who also attended Prior Pursglove College in Guisborough, said: “I replied to an open call for comedians who are passionate about video games. I was slightly daunted when I saw the calibre of comedians involved, but I know the subject inside out and I’m a quick thinker so I had lots of fun filming.”

She will play the Big Mouth comedy club at Guisborough Quoit Club on Friday, June 6 alongside Rob Deering from ITV’s Comedy Rocks. Find out more information at bigmouthcomedy.co.uk
