AN AUTISM charity is encouraging supporters to bathe themselves in colour and run the spectrum.
A colourful race set to wind its way through Darlington’s South Park later will see participants doused in the colours of the rainbow as they run.
In a symbolic bid to represent the autistic spectrum, runners will be covered from head to toe in vibrant colours at paint stations along the route.
The 5k race is the first of its kind in the region and will end with a Colour Festival, held at the finish line.
Run the Spectrum is being organised in a bid to highlight and raise awareness of autism, with all funds raised going to support the charity’s work with autistic people across the region.
Registration for the race – which takes place on Sunday, September 21 – is now open and costs £20, with participants asked to pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship of £25. Under-15s go free but must be accompanied by a participating adult.
The registration pack includes sunglasses and a t-shirt.
