MUSEUM boss Paul Kirkham took a break from his labours behind a desk – to have a go at playing with models.
The director of the National Railway Museum in York got to grips with the Manchester Model Tramway, currently set up in the museum’s Great Hall for the half-term holiday.
The Manchester Model Tramway Group, which has been displaying its collection of large-scale model trams for more than 60 years, is demonstrating at the museum for the fourth year.
The impressive 60ft x 2ft layout features a variety of trams from different regions and periods.
“Playing with trams is great fun and a good excuse to get away from my desk,” said Mr Kirkham.
Big Fun with Little Trains runs at the museum until June 2. Admission is free.
