WALKERS are invited on a stroll around projects funded by a landscape preservation initiative.

The Heart of Teesdale Landscape Partnership is hosting a guided walk from Barnard Castle to Whorlton, in County Durham, on Saturday, June 7, following the Teesdale Way.

The walk leaders will point out and discuss several projects along the way which have been funded by the partnership, including the Upper Demesnes Hay Meadows, footpath improvements works, the regeneration of Amen corner, and the potential restoration of a Lime Kiln near Abbey Bridge.

A buffet lunch will be served at The Bridge Inn, in Whorlton, after the walk and there will be presentations from the Partnership’s manager and chairman, Graham Young.

Mr Young said: “There are many exciting new projects getting underway at the moment and it is great to be able to share them with the public.”

The free event runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Places must be pre-booked.
