A UNIQUE exhibition is being held at a North Yorkshire church focusing on all aspects of rainbows.

The event called Who Put the Colours in the Rainbow runs at St Mary’s Church, Thirsk, until Saturday (May 31) from noon until 4pm.

The exhibition features flowers, textiles and a range of colourful items or objects associated with rainbows.

It features work by children including simple science experiments, poems and quotations as well as Joseph's Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, games, toys and sweets, all from the perspective of colour. The exhibition will also look at the colours used in the different seasons of the church's year.

Margaret Hunton, St. Mary’s Church Tourism Officer and organiser of the exhibition, said: “We have had input from the congregation, the Ark Club and Little Ark Club, from local Rainbows groups and from friends across a large part of North Yorkshire and beyond."

Admission is free but donations to St Mary’s church are welcome.
