A CITY of London worker who lost his dog near the summit of the highest peak in the Yorkshire Dales has appealed for help to find his beloved pet.

Tony Warrington, of Chelmsford, Essex, said he had spent ten days scouring the area surrounding Whernside since his Jack Russell-pug cross dog Pepper ran off as he approached the top of 736-metre mountain on May 12.

Mr Warrington said the four-year-old dog had leapt over a wall, and despite the clear conditions, he had been unable to find her.

He said: β€œIt is terribly sad and totally out of character for her to run off.

β€œ I would like to find her dead or alive, and while there is still hope I will continue searching.”

Anyone who has seen Pepper can call 01969-667212.
