A High school was over the moon with their latest celebrity guest who has been helping them get into gear for the arrival of the Tour de France.

The Food Technology and Catering department of Bedale High School welcomed celebrity Yorkshire chef Steph Moon to help with their their Tour de France project.

Year nine students who have opted to do the subject next year at GCSE are studying a scheme of work focussing on traditional Yorkshire recipes.

On the day students were treated to a professional demonstration of Strawberry and Rhubarb Clafoutis and Croque Monsieur. While both are traditional French recipes, Steph did them in typical Yorkshire style.

She showed the students how they could be adapted using Yorkshire produce, much of it available on the doorstep. The students are now trying out the recipes themselves with the aim of designing and making their own creation suitable for selling at a food festival on the day of the race.
