A HOUSING association based in North Yorkshire has become the first in the UK to receive a national charity’s highest accolade for health and safety in the workplace.
Broadacres secured its 15th consecutive gold award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents – meaning it now has the RoSPA Order of Distinction, the highest award possible.
Health and safety officer John Blake said: “In order to meet the gold award standard, organisations need to demonstrate continual improvement in health and safety, so it is testament to the efforts of our staff that over the last 15 years we have been able to achieve this.
“Receiving the Order of Distinction is the pinnacle when it comes to health and safety performance and we are very proud to become the first housing association in the UK to reach this standard.”
