PROFESSIONAL boxers from the North-East will go toe to toe in a Darlington show this Friday.

The event will see six Darlington-based fighters – including Danny Fleary who has been televised on Sky Sports – battle out in front of an audience at the town's Dolphin Centre.

The fighters are all based at the Darlington Boxing and Martial Arts Academy at the Northern Echo Arena and head coach Paul Hamilton said there will be lots of quality boxing on show.

He added: “Darlington is a great boxing town, it always has been, and it is good to see the professional guys get local support because it encourages the young kids to go down the line of becoming a professional athlete and not a professional drinker.”

As well as Mr Fleary, other highlights of the show will include Chris Wood who has fought two and won two and John Green who will make his professional boxing debut on Friday.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £40 on the door or £35 when bought in advance from the Academy or the Dolphin Centre.
