POLICE searching for a missing man have recovered a body.
At around 8pm tonight, North Yorkshire Police recovered a man’s body from the River Ouse, in York.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, the family of missing York man Mandeep Ahluwalia have been informed of the discovery.
A member of the public spotted the body in the stretch of river which runs along the back of St Peter’s School playing fields, in Clifton shortly after 4pm.
The Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Underwater Search Team was called in and removed the body.
Mr Ahluwalia was last seen by his mother in the city on Friday afternoon. The 41-year-old also left leaving his car, bank cards and mobile phone behind.
