THE SUN was shining as a vintage rally rolled into the region this weekend.
Crowds descended upon Darlington’s Head of Steam museum today (Sunday, May 18) to enjoy a display of unusual vehicles.
The annual Vintage Vehicle Rally gave visitors chance to explore and learn more about dozens of rare and quirky vintage cars, military vehicles and vans.
The vehicles, scrubbed clean and gleaming in the sunlight, were driven to the museum by car enthusiasts from across the North-East and Yorkshire.
To complement the event, the Darlington Railway Preservation Society displayed a Peckett and Sons locomotive.
Families were invited to hop on-board a miniature train or join in with a variety of arts and crafts sessions.
Admission to the rally also allowed visitors to enjoy a host of vintage themed stalls, family activities and entrance to the Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum.
Attractions at the museum include a railway collection, interactive railway displays, a miniature railway and miniature traction engine.
