Police have charged a 24-year-old man with attempted murder and burglary with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after an incident in Middlesbrough on Friday.
Cleveland Police were called out to a house in Weastell Street, Middlesbrough, at about 6.30pm where a 62-year-old man was found with facial injuries. He is still undergoing treatment at the town's James Cook University Hospital.
The 24-year-old local man has been remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court tomorrow (May 19).
