CHILDREN are being asked to send in their favourite photos to teach future generations about life in 2014.
Youngsters wanting to take part should take up to three photos to Durham County Record Office’s sixth annual family fun day on Friday, May 30, from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
There will also be old photos, toys and costumes and tours of the archives.
Dawn Layland, education and outreach archivist at Durham County Council, said: “Photos are a fantastic way to explore the past.
“Even young children can have fun looking at how different clothes and cars used to be.”
Entry to the event, at County Hall, Durham, is free. Booking is not required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
