TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who died in a house fire.
The man, in his 60s, died in a property in Acton Street, Middlesbrough, in the early hours of yesterday morning, Saturday, May 10.
Allison Simpson paid tribute online.
She said: “RIP. You were a good man, always remembered.”
Emergency services were called to a report of the fire just before 1am.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "Sadly a man in his sixties was pronounced dead at the scene."
The fire is not believed to be suspicious however enquiries are still on-going.
There was also shock that flowers left at the house had been removed and speculation that they had been stolen.
Writing on the Incidents on Teesside website, Sue Beadnell said: “How disrespectful and shocking.”
Sarah Robinson said: “I know (the couple who left the flowers) and I think it’s disgusting that someone has taken the flowers and cards they lovingly left.”
Anyone with information should contact Detective Sergeant Jon Hagan on the non-emergency number 101.
