THE Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra is back at Middlesbrough Town Hall for the finale of the town’s classical concert series.

Conducted by Russian conductor Yuri Botnari, musicians will perform Shostakovich’s vibrant Symphony No 9 on Tuesday.

The orchestra will then be joined on stage by pianist Natasha Paremski for Rachmaninov’s romantic Piano Concerto No 2, made famous by the film Brief Encounter.

The evening will conclude with the full suite from Tchaikovsky’s popular ballet Sleeping Beauty.

The performance is part of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra’s seven concert tour in 11 days.

Town hall manager Rob Guest said: “Our classical series continues has been a real coup for Middlesbrough, with performances from world-class oversees orchestras the likes of which most towns can only dream about.

“Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra went down a storm on their last visit to the town a couple of years ago and I have no doubts that they will prove equally popular this time around. It really is one not to be missed.”

The performance at 7.45pm is the final in the season of concerts from Middlesbrough's 2013/14 Classical Music Series at the town hall.
