TWO years of fundraising has culminated in staff at a five-star resort handing over £10,000 to the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).

The GNAAS has been Rockliffe Hall’s nominated charity for the last two years and staff took part in events such as the Coast to Coast cycle challenge and various other fundraising activities in aid of the charity.

The resort, in Hurworth, County Durham, also made prize donations and the complex was offered as a venue for GNAAS’s corporate events during the partnership.

Nick Holmes, managing director of Rockliffe Hall, said: “It has been a complete honour to have been involved with the GNAAS for the last two years, not to mention a lot of fun as well.

“Our team has taken part in lots of activities and it really is a privilege to be able to officially hand over this money.”

Grahame Pickering, GNAAS chief executive, thanked Rockliffe staff for their “unwavering commitment and energy” during the last two years.

He added: “They were a pleasure to work with and we hope to rekindle our partnership at some point in the future.”

Rockliffe Hall will be announcing its new charity partner in the coming weeks.
