MORE than a dozen big fairground rides, side shows and stalls have taken over a town centre for the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Dodgems, ghost trains, a helter skelter, hoopla and several large rides have taken over Northallerton High Street for its annual May Fair.
The Northern section of the Showmen’s Guild, which organises the fair, said this year it had brought in its top selection of exciting rides, as well as traditional fairground attractions.
The chairman of Hambleton District Council, Councillor Bob Baker, was invited to perform the opening ceremony on Thursday, May 1.
The five day fair remains in the town until 10pm tomorrow (Monday May 5).
