SOUTH America comes to Swaledale next week in the form of Colombian harpist and poet Ricardo García-Curbelo, a composer-performer of Latin American harp music.
Mr Garcia-Curbelo takes the audience on a colourful musical journey through different Latin American countries, presenting a great combination of traditional pieces, together with many of his own compositions.
He sings and plays the Modelo Corvado harp, an instrument which he designed himself, maracas and the cuatro, a traditional four string guitar from Colombia and Venezuela.
The concert is in Reeth Memorial Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, May 9. Tickets are £8 in advance, £10 on the door, under 16s half price; on sale at Reeth Post Office or contact John Little 01748-884759. All profits are for the refurbishment of the Memorial Hall.
