Charity choir concert in Bishop Auckland

CHOIR CONCERT: The Sound Waves Community Choir will be performing at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church on Friday, June 6, at 7pm. Tickets cost £5 and are available by calling 01388-662661. Money raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. Refreshments will be available.

PLANT SALE: The Bishop Auckland Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society will hold its annual plant sale in Lidl car park, St Helen Auckland, on Saturday, May 10, from 9am to 1pm.

QUIZ NIGHT: A quiz night will take place at Thornley Village Hall on Friday, May 23, at 7pm. There will be a homemade two-course supper available but participants should take their own drinks. POST PLANS: The Post Office is holding a public consultation about proposals to move its branch on Cockton Hill Road, Bishop Auckland, down the road to Cockton Hill News. GARDEN CLUB: The next meeting of Bishop Auckland Hospital Garden Club will take place at the Hospital Club, on Escomb Road, on Tuesday, May 6, at 8.15pm. Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinator John Raw will give a talk on allotment security. Admission is free.

MUSIC CONCERT: Romanian-born pianist Alexandra Dariescu will perform at A Bishop Auckland Music Society concert in Auckland Castle, on Friday, May 16, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12.50, under-18s go free. For details call Brian Varley on 01388-606075.
