RESIDENTS are being advised that bin collections across County Durham will not be changed due to the bank holidays in May.

Durham County Council will collect rubbish, recycling and garden waste as normal and bins should be put out by 7am on collection day.

The two bank holidays in May are on Monday 5, and Monday, 26.

Collection days can be checked online by entering house numbers and post codes into the My Durham section on durham.gov.uk

It's an old picture , bin men will be a day late after bank holidays until October when the fortnightly collections start
