A YOUNG Teesside designer’s first collection has been launched in supermarkets nationwide.

Amanda Bradley, 25, has launched an interiors collection with George Home for Asda.

The limited edition collection, to raise money for the Prince’s Trust, includes textiles and home accessories.

Miss Bradley – who was unemployed before getting help from The Prince’s Trust to set up in business – struggled to find design work locally.

She originally took up an administration job with the NHS but was made redundant within six months.

She then joined the Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme, which helps unemployed young people to set up in business, and set up as a freelance illustrator.

Within months, Amanda Bradley Illustration was born and she has since designed a huge range of products, from greetings cards to clothes, and her fortunes turned around when she was asked to design the George Home range.

She said: “It was really tough being out of work. I started to lose faith in myself. I was desperate to get my career off the ground but I just didn’t know where to start.

“Thanks to the Prince’s Trust I’ve managed to turn my passion into a career. Working with the George Home team has been such an amazing opportunity. I have learnt so much from them.”

Ten per cent of sales from the Prince’s Trust ranges will go to the charity.
