A SERIES of Hambleton-based bike rides are to take place this summer.
Sky Ride-Local are cycling events guided by British Cycling ride leaders along scenic planned routes.
There are five rides planned for Hambleton following one of two routes: Ride around the Rountons - a steady 40.5km ride suitable for people aged 11 years and over, taking in West Rounton and the surrounding areas - on June 29 and August 3.
The Wiske around the Countryside ride is 13.9km, and is an easy route suitable for families with children aged eight years and over, and will pass through Danby Wiske.
The rides will take place on May 18, June 8 and July 13.
All five rides will start from the Civic Centre, in Northallerton, at 10am and are free.
The rides have been organised by Hambleton District Council’s community leisure team in partnership with Sky, British Cycling and North Yorkshire Sport and are part of the Get Hambleton Cycling campaign to help to build a cycling legacy following the Tour de France.
