TRADE union members are to express their concerns over pay cuts and changes to working practices ahead of a meeting tonight (Tuesday, April 29).

Unison members employed in the Street Scene department at Darlington Borough Council will make their feelings known at tonight’s cabinet meeting.

Branch secretary Joe Wright said: “The strength of feeling is running very high among our members who are quite rightly angry over the prospect of pay cuts and changes to working practices.

“Beneath the brave faces, our members are very worried about the impact these proposals will have on themselves and their families.

“Morale is at an all time low and they are feeling extremely let down by this Labour-controlled council.”

The cabinet meets at 5pm, at Darlington Town Hall.
