A GREEN-fingered star will be visiting a Gilling West gardening club to share his expertise and passion for plants.
John Foley, 26, beat 700 contestants in 2012 to become BBC Young Gardener of the Year and has gone on to win numerous RHS and Harrogate Flower Show gold awards, and now runs a garden nursery in Lancashire.
Mr Foley will visit Gilling West Gardening Society on Thursday, May 2, at 7.30pm, to give a talk in the village hall.
He has been invited to speak on one of his specialist subjects - spectacular plants that are hardy enough to survive the toughest Northern winter.
He will be bringing along examples including pasque flowers, blue pulmonarias and dwarf conifers. Mr Foley will also be inviting questions from the audience.
Tickets, including refreshments, cost £2 on the door.
