A FAMILY fun day kicked off one of the biggest games in a North-East rugby club’s history this weekend.
Abseiling, face painting and music from live bands were just some of the activities on offer at the fun day, hosted by Mowden Park Rugby Club, at The Northern Echo arena, in Darlington.
There was also the chance to try out sports such as touch rugby and volleyball.
The event kicked off the title-deciding match against Macclesfield, which saw Mowden Park narrowly missing out on automatic promotion.
They will now take on Bedfordshire’s Ampthill Rugby Club next Saturday in the play-offs, with the winner securing promotion to the National League one.
Mowden Park moved into the arena last year and are keen to show off the stadium and their grassroots facilities to the public.
