ACADEMY students had the chance to grill their local MP about how government works when he attended their school for a two hour visit today (Friday, April 25).

Tom Blenkinsop, Labour MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland, spoke to students at Nunthorpe Academy in an attempt to engage with the voters of the future and give them an insight into his work.

During his time at the school, Mr Blenkinsop spoke with GCSE sociology, AS sociology and GCSE philosophy and ethics students.

He discussed how government works, what he stands for and his policies for the area.
