A COUNCILLOR is fundraising for three different charities in an all-day coffee event.
Richmondshire District Councillor Linda Curran is holding an All Day Coffee Morning on Saturday, May 3 in Richmond Town Hall starting at 9am.
She will be serving morning coffee, cakes and biscuits and then afternoon tea and cream scones with a raffle and tombola throughout the day.
Coun Curran is supporting Just the Job environmental services in Richmond, towards a new vehicle; St Mary's church disabled access appeal; and the Paul Curran Celebration Trust, which gives grants to support disadvantaged children and young people.
“All three charities are very close to my heart as they have a disability focus,” said Coun Curran, who had to put up with being profoundly deaf for nearly 30 years until she had a cochlear implant last November and can now hear again.
“I am lucky that I now have my hearing back but some people aren’t so lucky. I now want to help those less fortunate than I so am urging people to pop in on May 3.”
